Talk shows play an important role in the public discourse on political issues. They provide a platform for discussing currently relevant topics and often spark broader debates. Since many political arguments rely on factual information, ensuring the accuracy of these facts is essential for fostering a well-informed discourse.
Currently, fact-checking is mostly conducted through manually created reports based on news articles and other trusted sources—a process that can be tedious and slow. In an era where false claims can ignite destructive debates almost instantly, the speed of fact-checking has become crucial.
Leveraging recent advances in agentic AI, we have developed an automated fact-checking pipeline for German talk shows. Our system automatically transcribes talk shows, identifies speakers, extracts verifiable facts, and assesses their truthfulness using established fact-checking databases.
The website and pipeline are still under development, but a demo is already available.
